Olanrewaju Adeyanju

Program Intern

Olanrewaju Adeyanju is Ikeda Center’s new program intern. Her role includes supporting the team with events, planning, and implementation of programs. Olanrewaju is a rising senior studying Government with a minor in African Studies and pursuing a Yoruba citation at Harvard University. Prior to joining the Ikeda Center team, she has experience working in mentorship roles to high school students, tutoring elementary to high school students, and involvement with student-run and community organizations. Last summer, she also worked with the Rio city secretary of education with the diversity and inclusion team. Olanrewaju is particularly interested in education and policymaking because she believes they are essential to community building and can help foster civic engagement. During her college career, she has joined several organizations that worked with the community around her such as the Emerging Leadership Program, Nigerian Student Association, Black Pre-Law Association, and more.

Olanrewaju is inspired by this quote from Daisaku Ikeda’s 10th anniversary message: “The Power of Dialogue”:

Open dialogue is the only way peaceful coexistence will occur; it will transform prejudice to understanding, mistrust to empathy, and conflict to harmony.
